• North Side Police Oversight Group Raises Alarm As Funding For Mental Health Response Team Dries Up

    LINCOLN SQUARE — The city’s new mental health initiative is facing a fiscal cliff at the end of the year as federal COVID funds run out. But a group of police district council members say city public safety money should be reallocated to save the program.

    The city’s police district councils are new elected civilian oversight boards created after years of community organizing. The inaugural council members assumed office in 2023 and are elected to four-year terms. Read More Here.
