    LINCOLN SQUARE — Many Hallmark-type holiday movies have a similar plot: Big-city professional woman revisits her small hometown and rediscovers what’s really important about life during the Christmas season. In the vast majority of these movies, the city is something to be escaped instead of treasured.

    Which is what makes “Christmas in Chicago” so unusual. In Mark Nathan’s new holiday rom-com, the North Side neighborhood of Lincoln Square stands in for the fictional Chicago neighborhood of Garrett Park, to which heroine Felicity Jones (Jennifer Freeman) returns to find the true meaning of Christmas.
