Cafe Team Member - Mindful Baking Cafe

Job Description:

Mindful Baking Cafe is seeking a dependable, organized, and outgoing individual to join our team as a Cafe Team Member. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the daily operations of our 100% gluten-free and vegan cafe, including food and drink preparation, daily cafe cleaning tasks and inventory management, and providing stellar customer service. The ideal candidate has previous cafe experience and is interested in supporting vegan companies and small, independent businesses.

Cafe Operations Tasks:

• Prepare food and drink orders according to our recipes and high standards.

• Provide outstanding customer service while staying up-to-date on menu changes, weekly specials, and new products.

• Become an expert on Mindful Baking’s offerings and be a knowledgeable and helpful resource for customers who need suggestions or ingredient details.

• FOH and BOH daily and weekly cleaning tasks as assigned.

• Inventory management, reporting, and stocking for case items, ingredients, and supplies. 

• Stay in close daily contact with the Owner and Cafe Manager regarding inventory needs, customer feedback, etc.

• Manage custom cake order schedule and handle customer phone orders.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Previous cafe/barista experience is required.

• Must be available to work mornings, afternoons, and weekends (the cafe is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm).

• Must have excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must be customer-service-oriented and sales-driven.

• Basic knowledge of vegan and gluten-free products is a plus, and the desire to learn about our menu is a must.

Salary:

The salary for this position is $16.50 per hour plus tips, and includes the following benefits:

• 1 free baked good and beverage per shift worked, plus a 20% employee discount on all cafe food, drinks, and merchandise. Everything we make is vegan & gluten-free!
