The Joys & Challenges of Aging Book Club with Carrie Waller
Bloom Book Club
Bloom’s 2025 book club is announcing its first three meeting dates and books for this year. The book club, facilitated by Carrie Waller, focuses on the joys and challenges of aging. It meets six times over the course of one year (once every other month) and features six books covering a variety of aging-related topics. You can view the first three books in the series below. Each two-hour session starts with a gentle yoga practice, transitions to a group discussion, and closes with a short meditation. These sessions enable participants to build connections with others in the Bloom community who share the love of reading and yoga.Cost per session: $40Bloom Member Individual Session: $35May 19th - Too Close to the Falls by Katherine GildinerIn the first installment of her acclaimed memoir trilogy, Katherine Gildiner invites readers on a spirited journey through her unconventional childhood near Niagara Falls. Born in 1948, Gildiner grew up in the vibrant, yet innocent era of the baby boomers. With humor and heart, she recounts her rebellious escapades in her small-town community and Catholic school, sharing stories that are both laugh-out-loud funny and deeply poignant. If you fall in love with this captivating debut, take comfort—there are two more volumes in the series to keep on your nightstand for your reading pleasure.
