The CHIRP Music Film Festival @the Davis Theater

CHIRP Radio 107.1FM is proud to hold its inaugural music film festival featuring eleven music-related films, from documentaries to concert films to narrative features. There's something here for every music lover!

We'll be screening eleven films over the course of the four-day festival, including the Chicago premiere of The Elephant 6 Recording Co. on Thursday to kick off the fest, and a special closing event featuring a screening of Out of Time: The Material Issue Story, followed by an array of local bands paying tribute to the Chicago power pop legends.

In additional to our screenings, we have several other special events, including:

• Introductory remarks from director and native Chicagoan Andrew Davis (The Fugitive, Holes) preceding the screening of Stony Island on Saturday afternoon.
• A Q&A with Aaron Cohen, author of the 33 1/3 selection on Aretha Franklin's Amazing Grace album following the screening of the Amazing Grace film on Sunday.
• Closing live band event: Following the Sunday night screening of Out of Time, A Tribute to Material Issue, featuring local artists Impulsive Hearts, Gal Gun, The Feeders, P.A. Pritchett, Blue Ribbon Glee Club, and more TBA.
